Eva Hertzsch and Adam Page’s projects reflect on the strategies and hierachies which define today's urban experience. Their work critiques the current transformation of public space from a common resource to a product, the denunciation of the social by an allconsuming economical and the festivalisation of cities.

Their practice is group orientated and understands art as a means of communication and exchange. They have increasingly directed their projects at specific partners in society instead of at an art public or a random passer by. They hope that the resulting collaborations with groups of residents extend participation in cultural processes to new areas of society. An example of this is the much sort after „sustainability“ which followed their „FOR SALE“ project on the Prohlis Estate in Dresden in 2006 where residents have since founded the neighbourhood arts centre IDEE 01239 e.V. with the artists. In this sense, Eva Hertzsch and Adam Page’s work more about art in the public interest rather than art in public space.
